First time with Swarovski

My sister is getting married this March and I have to get something for her. To be honest, I have no clue about what gift a brother should buy for his sister. I searched the internet and asked some of my friends. One of them suggested Swarovski, which sounded pretty sensible to me..

So I went to its boutique in my local area, for the first time I entered the store although I have been passing it whenever I go the mall where Swarovski is located. Coincidentally, there was a sales going on and instantly one necklace caught my eye.. initially I thought it was a rabbit, but later I was told it was actually a mouse, an angel mouse in fact. I didnt buy the necklace right here and then. I left the store and went to look for something else. It was a big mistake!

30 minutes later I returned to the store and found out the angel mouse was gone! Its a shame, I should have bought it without hesitating earlier. I asked the store assistant hoping there could be one more in stock but that didnt happen. Not giving up on hope, I asked her to help me check if other branch would have it and fortunately there are 2 angel mouse necklaces at Croydon's branch.

I took the shot and headed straight to croydon by train. It was a two hour ride and I hoped the necklace would still be available when I got there. Luck was on my side that day, saw the angel mouse! Of course I learnt my mistake, I bought it immediately. Originally priced at £69, I paid just £27 for it. That is how it looks like. Hope she will like it.

since my last submission, I haven't check this site myself until today... well i am not a blogger but sometimes i want to feel what it is like to blog... so here i am but i might disappear for months again :p

maybe my life got better so there is no need for me to write something here because i could share with people i met :) in fact i dont have anything to write here as most of the entire last year was about work. Hopefully I will be getting a promotion this year... However, last christmas was enjoyable..exchanging gifts, baking turkey and making cheesecake..last but not least took responsibility to boost the country's economy :p

Haven't finished the shopping list yet as this year is my triathlon year, i need to get a road bike. Already submitted name for London Triathlon in September.

Gym, Swimming, Protein Shake, McD, KFC and Subway = 66.4Kg
That gives my BMI 19.7 which is the highest I have achieved where after 29 years, I have managed to reach the normal weight.
However, the biggest transformation of myself is the hair. Had a hair cut a while back and it was the shortest length no one has ever seen before. Waking up in the morning without worrying about bad hair day and compliments from colleagues make the haircut decision so worth it. ^_^
My birthday had passed recently and it was passing by like another ordinary day. Haven't done any celebration since the split up incident and if someone does a surprise cake for me, I would cry. Thats why I would prefer not to reveal my birth date so I won't unexpectedly receive any surprises.

For the past three months, few things went on for me like Brussel, Brighton trip and the Royal Wedding. I should share it later.

So far so good lah.. just a little lonely.

Singlehood, it has been probably more than 2 years, the longest gap I had not been in a relationship since the first one. During those period, my life evolved around work and err.. work. The bad thing is it was not a healthy life to be in. Seriously unhealthy and it is time to keep between work and life balanced. Only if there is someone to pester and nag me to live a healthier life, otherwise i will just delay it. I have been having mcD as dinner for consecutive 5 days, simply because I am getting lazy to cook.

Thankfully though, the hard work has paid off recently that I got a salary increment a staggering 30%. The highest increment I have since started working. It was unbelievable but still a long way to where I should be at this age. I was one of the contributor to the number of unemployed people before and my aim is to get my life back on track. It was tough time and things is getting better now. Still a bit insecure because of the rising unemployment in UK, hopefully i will pull through.

Unlike in Malaysia, there are things I can't do right now, like getting a house and other kind of commitments. There are uncertainty of my future which I couldnt predict. In a year time, I will be applying for extension, after that I need to work towards getting a residency. So far, it looks pretty optimistic that I should get there. Finger tightly crossed. That could be one of the reason why i am not in a relationship. who would want to be with someone who lives in uncertainty. Sound pessimistic but no one proves me wrong. YET.

Had a short phone conversation with my mum in between working hours and realized how much I have neglected my family. I plan to go back somewhere in the summer, or perhaps on my friend's wedding if I were to be invited. otherwise I shall go back this Christmas.

Neither the 01/01 new year nor Chinese New Year but its the Persian New Year. Friend of mine who is anIranian brought along some friends to a Persian restaurant for a lunch as a new year celebration. It was a buffet lunch and cost only 7pounds.

There is a seven 'S' (in Persian alphabet) table setting which is a tradition to this celebration but on this table, there were more than seven.
consist of apple, vinegar, garlic, mirror, dried fruit called senjed, lit candles, sweet pudding called samanu, an egg, a type of plant which I dont know. Each of them symbolize as my friend explained in the same order, beauty and health, age, medicine, cleanliness, love, enlightenment, affluence, fertility, rebirth, life within life.

Neuschwanstein castle

After the oktoberfest, I drove on my hired luxury car for 3hours crossing Austria border and stay a night at Pension Posthansl in Heiterwang. I had trouble finding the place because it was already dark on arrival . It was a good call to stay there because the room itself was luxurious for a price of a budget room and you can tell from the picture what it was surrounded by. In the morning, they served buffet breakfast.
Didn't stay long because had to visit a castle before catching a flight back to London.
Headed to McD for lunch and had McRib. I loved it but it was quite sweet to my liking.
The next destination was Neuschwanstein castle in Fussen.

Searched high and low for Rapunzel but she wasn't there.

Stranded and the sight of wolfy at dusk

One weekend a while ago, I was suppose to meet up a couple of friends to join a river tour along thames river but the train I was on to reach london got stranded. To make it even worst, it stopped under a tunnel. So 30 minutes later, all lights went off because they ran on battery. All the passengers were in complete darkness except the lights from mobile phones. There was no coverage on my phone as a result I couldnt contact my friends about the incident.

Apparently the train hit something while entering the tunnel and created an enormous loud band and jolted everyone.
About 3 hours later, another train came and transfered everyone to that train. All of us were unhurt and on arrival of our destination everyone were given a full refund for the delay although the incident was clearly not their fault. Water bottles were given away too. How thoughtful they are.

As I got out from the tunnel, texts and missed calls started bombarding my phones. I called my friends immediately and told them to go tour without me. I ended up hanging around the Eye myself waiting for them to return. Guess what I saw.

Oktoberfest 2010

That was last september went to Munich to attend oktoberfest plus a little visit detour. Landed in Karlsruhe airport, about 300 KM away from the destination.
Got myself pretty luxury hired car. Well for German, I think its like Proton to Malaysia. So its the cheapest of all cars. On a highway, if you see a sign speed limit 80KM/H, that is a minimum speed limit. Everyone here drives at least 140km/h. So if you want to drive in that country, get Mercedes or BMW. Got the idea?

I truly enjoyed the event with a bunch of companions though that was the second time. I will definitely go there again.

Then we went to Austria to stay a night there.

My third visit to the city but spent just a night there because I was feeling boring during christmas. Did some shopping and eating chinese food. Still tastier and cheaper than those in London. I am grateful to have a companion to bring me around.

It was the second company's Christmas meal I had attended. It was a decent gathering but this year without the MD as he was already having his holidays abroad.

Christmas crackers are an essential part in Christmas celebrations over here. Inside consists of a mini toy, colored paper hat and a joke on a small paper.
Received a mug with jelly beans in gift raffles.

Food wise, nothing to brag about.. but the goat cheese was yummy!

Braved the subzero temperature on Christmas day to take pictures in the woods nearby.

I think it was worth it. Snow fall was the heaviest of the year so far and it is not every weekend i get to see snow still fluffy during Christmas.

Temperature was around -5 degree Celsius. Fingers and toes were numb, even the camera almost give up on me because the battery couldnt withstand subzero temperature.

First time ever seeing a sunset during winter time. It was spectacular.

London Outing

On the day when I was supposed to meet my friend at the airport, I went to London for a little walk in the afternoon. Regent street at Piccadilly station was closed for the entire daytime. Obviously an ideal time to shop around without worrying about traffic.

At covent garden, there were variety of activities going on like the reindeer petting.
A minor of people demonstrating of against animal slaughtering right in front of McD. So I skipped McD for awhile.
Kissing under mistletoe. and it is not free.

Street entertainers?
Giant reindeer tree. It was there last year.. spending cuts I suppose.
Who is more attractive? The one with red nose or gold nose?
Lastly, check out this fella. Very enchanting but its a shame he didn't play the entire song. He seems intimidated when I was recording him.

Today, for the first time or perhaps for a long time, I made a peculiar move in my entire life. I don’t know what made me taking such action but I do saw such situation on the movie or drama series. A friend of mine who was going to catch a flight to Malaysia that evening and I was supposed to meet her at the airport without her knowledge as a surprise. Having arrived at the airport prior to her departure time, I was anticipated and sneakily looking out for her. I thought everything was turning out as expected when I spotted her behind her back, but she was with a guy. My heart sank and immediately back off. Later, I texted her to wish her safe journey but didn’t tell her I was there, though I wish I was the last to bid her goodbye in person.

I don’t understand why I could promptly made that move and that kind of feeling inside I was having. Don’t you think this scenario should only take place in the movie? I still couldn’t believe that could occur to me. What is happening to me? Can someone enlighten me?

Canterburry Roadtrip

Hired a car for a roadtrip to Canterburry, covering almost the south east of england. Didnt know there were so much things to discover and explore there..
Visited vineyard for the first time and had a wine tasting.

Windmill is so common on this part of England. Perhaps because of strong winds. The winds blew the entire day when i was there, even have to walk slightly tilted front or backward.

My friend's farewell dinner. This restaurant serves from chinese, malay, japanese, and thai food under one roof.
The taste transfer from raw, fresh to hot and spicy.. Nonetheless, each of them tasted so good.. I would recommend such a delightful and loads with variety restaurant.

Pasar Malam in London

That was taken place at Trafalgar Square in London. I was so looking forward to try Malaysian food as I have been craving for it.
However, I didn't manage to satisfy my craving because the people there were just surprisingly crowded. There was no proper place to eat, basically everyone has to hold on the food and eat while standing or sit on a stair. I thought there would be some chairs and tables like the hawker street atmosphere but not as expected.

There was some performances, but boring...

Unable to eat those food, headed to a Chinese restaurant for some hot and spicy crave..

Notting Hill Carnival

This is so called Europe's biggest street carnival... The street of Notting Hill was filled with colorful costumed dancers along with giant sound systems. It is always held on the end of summer bank holiday so it is the best moment to soak up in the sun whilst enjoying the atmosphere.

Took place in central london. Lots of food, lots of entertainment. My favourite of the events was the Korean act. The made a simple and classic sketch but hilarious and entertaining. They had a superb performance.

Brighton

During the summer, I went to Brighton located down south of England. It was indeed a perfect summer place to go to. Instead of typical sandy beach, that was a rocky beach.
Walked along the beach and stumbled on this stall. Those ppl were queueing for ice cream.

I made another visit to Lavender farm.. this time with a companions. The weather was better than the first time I went but the sunflowers and some of the lavenders were already harvested.

Nothing much to comment about this but there are lots of Thais in UK. They had muay thai, cultural dance and music performances thorough the entire day. With several stalls selling souveniors and thai food.

Had Yum Woon Sen and the mango coconut rice pudding with ice cream. Its always a pleasurable moment to have asian food in UK.

I have not been to thailand for a proper visit. The only time I was there when I joined a cruise trip and I was only toured around Phuket for a day.

Borough Market

I read about a good Malaysian curry rice located in a London Borough Market and decided to give it a try on one bright weekend.
It was not as spicy as I would expected.. but the flavor from the herbs did make it an Asian feel. 5 pounds for a box, probably weight about 500g. Definitely not worth having it on regular basis.

This looked interesting..it was a machine that melts a cheese and ready to serve.. I will check it out in the future..

Every now and then, I spend a dayout during the weekend in London around the city.
That was the first I get close up with London Eye. Though I didnt ride on it because it is expensive. There were street entertainers along the pathway, some just stood there like a statue.

A landmark none other than the parliament house which popularly known as Big Ben.

There was a chocolate fair taking place and managed to catch a glimspe of chocolate easter egg making.

Look at how adorable was his daughter. I think the father was nervous on stage and so the daughter was there to distract the attention of the crowd. She just loved being the centre of attention.

Encouter with wine

Last week, I was tempted to buy a bottle of wine because lots of wine were on half price. So, on that weekend, I bought one which was less than 5pounds. I knew I had to finish within 2 days because as it couldnt sustain freshness for a long time and red wine is not suppose to be kept in the fridge.

Guess what had happened, on Monday evening after work, was the last moment of 48 hours, I had half bottle to go and as I attempted to finish it, I drank too quickly and immediately I got drunk.

Straight away I went to bed early with lights and Tv switched on, however woke up around 1am and found myself not able to sleep.

There I was, blogging away and reading The Star. In 6 hours time, I will have to go to work. FML (F*ck My Liver)

Turning Point

Many questions went through my mind while I was driving home from work as I look back on my life for the past few years. Recently seems like a moment of turning point in my life, I noticed how much I have changed, for better of course.

I have never thought of living and working in UK nor China. I guessed meeting my ex had changed my direction. Hence currently end up being in UK. I wondered what kind of life I would be living in if I hadn't met her. Being in this country and also US previously have been an eye opener. Therefore changed the direction I sculpture the path that is best for me. Nonetheless, I still consider Malaysia as my home, no doubt.

Another chapter is formed, with mix feelings, I am anticipated about what future lies ahead within the next 2 or 3 years but at the same time concerned if things don't turn up in a good way.

Quite accurate for me :(
I actually lacked of faithfullness to my company because I was out there looking for better opportunities. Having said that, I did it because I wanted to ensure to maintain my eligibility status to be resident here. I got an offer during the CNY period and accepted the offer. Then I withdrew after having discussed my resignation because my boss was happy to counter the offer. Therefore I stayed, at least for a year.

Love life? Not worth mentioning it. I was 'sentenced to death' for that already. Don't get me wrong, we have had great moments together but each of us have to pursue different life that is best for us.

Anyway, I am happy as how everything has turned out for me recently. I am worried being lonely though because single sucks.

Not quite but it is getting there... looking back in 2009, i was just a poor boy working at a swimming pool. At the same time, trying to get over the split incident.

Nevertheless, it is over.

Weather hasn't been as good as today since last Christmas.. This is probably my second Spring season in UK. Almost my Msia friend has left the country. The latest one will be leaving next month. :(

The last place I visited was Birmingham during Christmas. Went to chocolate factory which was highly recommended. Beware of getting sugar overdose..

After Christmas and New Year, I have been busy searching for job until the recent Chinese New Year, I got myself a new offer. Wrong! I got the offer from my current company. Thanks to job offer from other company though. I was hoping to start everything new as it was approaching new year, so far new year has done great.

Went home during CNY. Meeting friends, raiding food stalls and a little bit of shopping. Last but not least, I got a chance to attend friend's wedding dinner. Most of my friends got married but I managed to attend one only, I didnt get a chance to congratulate them on their big day. Unfortunately there is something missing. I was not able to share those moments with someone.

I am spending my first weekend in uk since CNY. Boring, cold, and lonely...

One Saturday Evening..

Unable to finish the curry packet sent over from mum, decided to share it with friend. So off we went to buy ingredients for the cooking adventure. Chicken meats, potatos, garlic, onions, rice, garlic - all checked. We didnt actually make a list of what we want to buy. As we got home, we realised cooking oil was missed.

My friend immediately called a friend of his to buy a bottle of oil who was on his way. Thats right, my friend invited his friend for the session. Not just one, but 3! Not meant to exagrate, I have never cooked for my friend. Let alone his friends whom are total stranger to me.

Cooking huge portion at a time is tough. I had to keep tasting the food to make sure the taste was reasonable.

Fried egg with onions, curry chicken, and chicken rice all single-handedly prepared by me. My friend helped slicing cucumber.

See even my friend gave a thumbs up. Ok. Not lah. That was taken before the meal started.

Bottle Cap Opener Alternative

I bought few bottles of drinks and realised that I did not have any bottle opener. After searching high and low, even searched on the internet. Found out that the belt I was wearing ideal for the job.

This is not alcohol, for your info..

The Conversation

I was having a conversation with my mum the other day. The last time I had it was a few months back.

I realised how much I missed my family. They had not been updated of my life and likewise. My sister has her own car! My grandparents is moving in with us!? Good to see things are going well with them, though there are some downs in between.

Everytime we talked, my mum would convince me to go back home and settle down there. I understand the care and me being thousand miles away from keep her worry. Unfortunately I am one who would not just stay in my comfort zone. No matter how difficult the life is in UK. Yes, its pretty hard, let alone the recession since. Well I have been through the worst this year. I think *touchwood* nothing can come even worst.

Yea, back to comfort zone. I am not going to stay comfortably in there until I get something that I would be happy to say my achievement. That will mean my mum will be nagging me for another 2 years. She cares, I know.

I told my mum about my relationship, she understood. Typically, she consoled by saying something like 'there are many girls around and soon you will find one'. Ironically, when i told her I am reaching 30 and I have no plan to look for another one. She burst into laughter and warned me not to bring home ang moh. I just giggled. That was so casual and odd. Seriously, I didnt mean to crack that joke or ended up into such conversation talking about my life partner. Perhaps it was never taken seriously by me. Oh dear, I am already in my late 20s, just turning into a grown up man.

Most importantly is, no matter how lonely I am right now, I know I got people to support me as I learnt from that conversation. Being alone in a foreign country can be very hard sometimes when family and friends are far from reach. Even advanced technology couldn't bring us so close together. The feeling would be different, yes?

It is 12 days to Christmas and yet I have no plans. However, I will be attending company's christmas party alas no booze for that day because the MD hopes everyone to get home safely after the event. I dont mind really. That is the right thing to do.

My last year christmas was nothing but a visit to Manchester. The worst thing is during the Christmas, majority of the shops is going to close. Which mean I have to stock up food a day or two prior. Then cook at home on Christmas and perhaps watch TV or online at home. This year I will be on my own. Call me anti social or anything, I really wish to celebrate christmas with someone whom I care the most. Nah.. its not gonna happen.

4 days of holidays but i have no idea how to utilize them. If I go out, I will be spending money. I think I should just stay at home. Ok fine, I might go to London. Date anyone?

Few weeks ago, my friend made a visit to London, and so I have to be a tour guide. Well, not exactly, I am simple bringing her from Point A to Point B with google maps and my experience with London tube. Moving London is simple but sometimes can be exhausting because as everything is within walking distance, you rather walk than take a bus or tube. I enjoyed the night view in London.
Guess what? This nandos opens under one of the railway bridge. The wall is actually meant for the pillar to support the railway. Interesting, once a while you will hear a train passing by and the whole place will trembling a little.

I never miss the opportunity to take a snapshot of Tower Bridge. Its just wonderful.

I was on my way home on a motorway, then I saw a helicopter appeared from between warehouse buildings which was odd.
After making a few circle airborne, it started coming down nearer

Things I Did in Stockholm, Sweden

Two weeks later since Manchester trip, I went to Sweden. Simply enjoyable especially in solo. Having said that planning was a pain. Better to go in pair because double room is cheaper when shared. Transportation is also cheaper when purchased in pair. Sweden is hell expensive. Here is some of my things I did.

1. Walked around, checked the buildings out and took trains in the cave. Unlike UK's underground, it really make you feel that you are entering a cave down below earth surface.

2. Fishy. Herrings fish is a must try whether in fine dining or street stall.

3. Swedish meatballs hunt. The meatballs is a mix of pork and beef. Or was it chicken? The one I tried was Ulla Winbladh.

4. Checked out the food market and ate reindeer meat. I guess I won't receive any presents from Santa this year T_T

5. Went to City Hall and enjoyed breathtaking view as well as wonderful piece of architechture.

6. Went to Swedish's Royal Palace and watched the changing of the guards ceremony. I think its not worth money to go inside.

7. Visited Vasa museum. A big war ship. Special, no?

8. Visited Icebar and ordered one of vodka drink poured on a icy glass. Go after 945pm and you get to enjoy unlimited time in the bar. Eventually some would not stand the cold and get out within 45 minutes. It's cheaper if you choose non-alcoholic drink.

Those pretty sum up my holiday. There are more to see so you have to explore yourself.

Safari Park

My last day in Great Manchester, visited Safari Park. This was the first ever animal park I entered to get close up with animals. It is even better than going to zoo as the animals are caged.
The monkey that eat the car's 'peanuts'. If you love your car like you love your wife, then this monkey zone is not recommended. Whenever they see a car, they will jump on it and try to break things.
This dear wont break things. It loves to lick. You are allowed to touch but not to feed.
This was the best part. You can be as close as about 5 metres to these group of lions/ness. As I was in that zone, I forgot to wind up one of the window. I might end up as their dinner that day. Of course there are rangers moving around in their jeep to look after us.
Safari park is more excited than zoo. especially when you can sit comfortably in your own vehicle, move at your own pace, stop wherever you want to take photos.

Blackpool

The first night, I went to Blackpool located slightly north west of Great Manchester or north east of Liverpool.

This place is a combination of a theme park and beach park and amusement park. Sort of everything in one place.

Unfortunately I arrived only after opening hours, so nothing much was done except taking photos.

China town

If you are going to Great Manchester, definitely must visit China town and eat.
The one I went was Tai Wu which was heavily recommended on the internet. The place was packed with Chinese.
The food was great. However I reckoned the Siu Mai was processed and frozen. Nonetheless I enjoyed and satisfied with the service. Must ask for chili oil to have it along dim sums.

Go there after noon because some of the dim sums are so much cheaper than the usual price and also other dishes.

La Salsa

That was the first meal I had on the visit to Manchester last week. However, this restaurant is located in Bolton. Spanish food and offered 'all you can eat' for only less than 10 pounds per person. Each person can order as many as they can which was fantastic.

The food came on a small portion, hence a lot of bowls and plates. Good way to taste without waste, no? I loved their deep fried king prawn. Huge, crispy and damn juicy inside.
After that, headed to Blackpool for some lights which was awesome too!

Visited safari park last weekend in Manchester, was quite a great experience. However a bit frustrated with one of the monkeys there.

This year has been a bad year for me. Being affected by recession, I have gone through the worst time in my entire life. Its even worse when staying in a foreign country as there is no one to turn to for support. Nonetheless I survived.

Now things are picking up and finally back to 9 to 5 job, I am going make full use of the remaining 2009. I am way behind and I need to catch up to where I should be at. Well, keep story short. I should go out there and make more money!

That's rite. I am hanging up my whistle. Sunday was my last day as a lifeguard. Happy! Having been through that, I am fortunate to be lifeguard. Without it I wouldnt be able to sustain my life in UK. Besides, I met a lot more friends and made me 19 again. :D

I am going to an interview today even though I am starting my new job on Tuesday. Always look out for better opportunities see.

Btw, am planning a beach holiday either to Spain or France end of this month. Soon will be able to post some photos.

Back On Track

Yes! I got an offer in a telecommunication company. The interview took about 20 minutes and immediately the MD gave me an offer. This is the quickest ever consideration on my job application.
Things have been going downhill for the past few months. I have a feeling that this is the turning point. Raycession is over!

There are plenty of plans I want to achieve along the way. So its good to be back on track.
First thing first, I will submit my resignation letter on my lifeguard position and hunt for a single room (because I am single, duh!). I will be moving closer to London city.

I plan to start work next month so I can spend time travel to one of any EU countries. I think I will look for weekend lifeguard position near my new place as well. Then maybe get an used car.

Summer BBQ

My department recently held a BBQ party outside of the swimming pool where I work. The event kicked off with water activities within the pool itself.

The weather was perfect after some pouring the day before. There were music for all to dance and plenty of alcohols. Of course there were lots of food cooked by managers. Unfortunately no photos to post.

On other note, I will be attending an anticipated interview next week (after over 1000 of applications). *Finger crossed*

Single or Complicated

Oh well, for the past weeks has been quite emotional. Trying to accept the fact that we have broken up. It was a peaceful break up nonetheless. Still a painful experience though. We remain friends and still keep in touch as we need each other's companion for sure in other's people lands.
Having said all that, its so difficult to determine whether I am single or still in a relationship (in a complicated way). I see my position between good friend and couple if you know what i mean. Something more than friend but there is a line towards couple.

I was asked several times whether I have a girlfriend and my answer is always Yes. I think I will keep things as it is. My main focus now is to look for job.

Went to Britney Spear's concert at 02 Arena on 14 June 09. This is the first ever concert I have attended in my entire life and I was not disappointed. A bit upset because my SLR camera was confiscated, so no quality photo taken. Camera phone sucked big time. Next concert, will make sure I have compact camera along.
Got a seat on eye level with the stage where Britney performed. I was only about 20meters from her! Sweet!

It was awesome. Love the performance, love the circus.

So, after months of job hunting. I got myself a new role. Lifeguard (LG) that is.
To be a LG in UK, one must have a certification. It is National Pool Lifeguarding Qualitification (NPLQ). The one I had prior to this was Award of Distinction which is totally useless in UK.

This LG job is not as pleasant as the one I used to be back in Malaysia. The role is more than just pool duty. I have to do pool setup, poolside and changing room cleaning. I have to do shift, so its not 9 to 5 routine. Sometimes, I need to be at the pool as early as 530am and off work as late as 11pm.

Anyway, for now, I am happy to have a job, though paid less. I hope to get into professional job as soon as possible, and economy.. please pick up! I dont want to waste 3 years as LG, not more than 3 months ideally.

Mui Ne: Red Canyon

On arrival in Mui Ne, we set off for a tour round the place on a jeep. Avoid renting a motorbike because you will never found your way to some places.
The first stop was at this erosion ditch, the Red Canyon

Unfortunately, the place was closed for renovation, so pictures were taken by the road side.

As usual, the place is sceluded, so you can have the whole Red Canyon to yourself and take photos without other people get in your way.

KL incident

Encountered another bad incident before my departure to vietnam. It was during my travel to KL to my friend's house to park the car before going to LCCT. It was around 43oam at the South LDP toll plaza, after paying the entry fee, i let the car to cruise slowly while i winded up car window. Halfway passed the barrier, i heard someone shouted 'Oi' from behind. Looked through the rear mirror, it was the lady from the toll booth. Thought that I forgot my change or something, I looked back again through my car window, then realised that there was a car followed me very close behind. It was an orange coloured MyVi driven by an Indian guy.

Despite there were walls on each side of the toll, the driver desperately tried to escape, the back of my car was hit as he drove away through the limited gap between my car and the wall. And the last thing he did before speeding off was showing his middle finger.

I wonder how many such incidents have happened previously. I am frustrated of the toll operator and relevant authority for not doing good enough to prevent people who tried to skip from paying toll. I think the operator is merely collecting money, and if motorists manage to 'exempt' themselves, then its OK. Suppose those offenders should be paying a hefty summonses and no one are let off the hook.

And for the Indian driver, if you paid RM1.60 to the toll operator, you wouldn't have to pay for the repair of your car and cause injury to other people.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh to Mui Ne

Early in the morning, we took a bus (USD6) to another part of Vietnam. Upon arriving Mui Ne after 5 hours travel, we checked into this hotel. Cheap but still very comfortable, only USD13 per night comes with 1 single bed and 1 double bed in a chalet.

From the main road, it seems like a budget house-like dorm. However, the actual chalet is located at the back of the house.After that, we hired a jeep to take us tour the place.

The tour cost 400,000 dong (RM80), the jeep can fit 5-6 persons.

Mui Ne is rather secluded, not much tourist. However, it is highly recommended for those who love to take pictures.

Besides, it is also recommended to bring along a sunglasses, a cap, scarf or facemask during the tour ride in Mui Ne. You will know why as you visit this site again. At the same time, you will get to enjoy some spectacular pictures.

Vietnam coffee

Whether you love or hate coffee, you must try Vietnamese coffee. Normally, it costs 10k dong (RM2) only. I would prefer this one to Starbucks coffee.

It was so addictive I had it everyday 2 or 3 times when I was there.

Never miss it when visitting Vietnam.

First, use a spoon to hit the top of the egg. Then feel off the top of the skin carefully because there is some soup where you must sip in first.

As the hole is big enough for a spoon to get in, start to dig in.

Putting that thing into the mouth seems disgusting, but the taste is nothing but a regular chicken meat.

Balut is common in Vietnam, there are also available in luxury restaurants.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh city

Nothing much was done on the first day though we arrived Ho Chi Minh (HCM) in the morning. Immediately, we hire a cab cost USD8 to Pham Ngu Lao street. The street is quite known by the locals and lots of tourists hanging out at that area.

It took 30 minutes from the HCM airport to Pham Ngu Lao. You dont have to worry not able to find a place to stay. Even if you arrive late at night, you will still manage to get a room. The rooms range from backpackers budget to luxury type.

The room I rented for a night was Spring House Hotel (USD28). It has 1 single bed and 1 double bed. The room was so comfy and we spent the whole afternoon in the room. Wasted but outside was pretty hot.
Nighttime, we went for dinner. near Le Loi street. The strech consists of shops selling branded stuff like LV, Gucci etc.. There is also a Ben Thanh Market which is rather famous among tourist, opens daytime only.

For dinner, we had grilled seafood along with Saigon beer.

One must try when in Vietnam is balut. It is a nearly developed duck embryo inside the egg.

Laptop theft investigation

Following to the return from Vietnam, we moved on to pursue our investigation.
So far, have caught 2 suspects involved in the incident. Thanks to me and my friend. We have to carry out the investigation ourself. Police is totally unreliable. Of course, it was the police that caught them but we were out there to search for clue leading to the capture.

The first suspect was caught at the scene where the laptop incident happened couple days ago. We followed him the whole evening and saw him selling syabu instead He was also there to jaga parking. So we called police.

Second suspect was caught at his place around the area. We knew where he stay so we waited for his bike to appear. We spent about 4 hours. We recognised the number plate of the bike so we followed him. It took almost 30 minutes for the police to come. At least the police managed to apprehend the suspect.

Early return

Suppose the Vietnam trip to complete on 24th April. Due to change to circumstances, the trip has to be called off. So flight changed to 22nd. Charged by Airasia amount of about RM100 :(
However, it was worth the trip though only manage to cover 1 location of Vietnam.
